Benefits to Both Employees & Employers:
Yoga has many benefits for employees that also therefore result in many tangible benefits to employers. It can reduce stress, improve focus, improve productivity, improve mood and morale and inter-office relations, and improve health and thus reduce lost productivity due to illness and sick time. Read the article "6 Ways Yoga Can Improve Productivity at Work" at Business.com for just a very brief overview. A study from the University of Michigan concluded that for every $1 invested in workplace wellness, a company can expect $3 in cost savings. And a study from the Conference Board of Canada reported that employees who report a high degree of stress in their lives miss twice as many work days as those with low stress. The Harvard Business Review supports this (see article) and also added that active participation in workplace wellness programs also significantly lowers voluntary employee attrition - which of course saves money otherwise spent on employee search, hiring, and training. Select What Suits Your Staff & Setting: If you are interested in helping your employees fit in the time to gain the many benefits of yoga by scheduling an opportunity during their workday, lunch hour, or immediately before or after work, I can come to you and provide single workshops or even a multi-week series of classes in yoga and/or meditation & relaxation at your facility. It can be light stretches and breathing exercises done in chairs and/or standing so employees will feel refreshed and relaxed but won't work up a sweat and won't need to change out of their work clothes. Or it can be more traditional mat yoga. Whichever would fit best your goals, physical space, and personnel. Types of Corporate Plans (based on 50-minute classes): (Plans for non-profits can be negotiated!) Single Workshop: Introduction to Yoga, Meditation & Relaxation: $90/hr Employer-Paid: The company pays the full cost for a multiple (5- or 10-) week series of classes. Testimonial: "Sharon’s style is unique in that she is knowledgeable and skilled, yet she is also comforting, inviting, and very approachable. Her routines are well paced and well timed, and always have just the right balance of serenity, challenge, exercise, training, and calm. She can just as easily teach an intermediate student as she can a beginner, and even teach both in the same class. I have seen her interact with people new to yoga, as well as with people who are older or who have injuries, and she very good at making sure they do not hurt themselves, and gives them many ways to adjust and work on their bodies in the ways that best suit their needs. Her care and concern are evident, which is why I think that many people who would not necessarily try yoga, feel comfortable learning from her." (a female employee in her 30s) NOTE: All rates listed are based on a 50-minute workshop or class. However, shorter or longer workshops or classes can be arranged and the price reduced by 20% for a 30-minute session or increased by 40% or 80% for 80-minute or 110-minute sessions, respectively.
